Video of the Puttgarden Rødby crossing: boarding, the Belt, arrival
We have not filmed the crossing ourselves, so here are four videos by other travellers that show it from the car window and the deck, alongside our own photos of the same moments. Watch them if you want to see the check-in lanes, the car deck and the 45 minutes on the water before you are sitting in the queue yourself.

The crossing from Rødby to Puttgarden
Both of these run the full crossing in the direction most of our readers take home: check-in in Rødby, the drive onto the car deck, the Belt and the exit in Puttgarden. They are by other travellers on YouTube, filmed from the car and the deck; our own cameras stayed in photo mode.
Puttgarden port and the last train ferry
A drive through Puttgarden ferry port, and a farewell to the train ferry, which is a piece of history worth five minutes: until December 2019 the ferries carried the trains between Hamburg and Copenhagen on rails on the lower deck, which is why the ships still have tracks.
The same crossing in our own photos
From the A1 sign for Fehmarn to the sunset mid-Belt, taken on our crossing in February 2025.
